Holidays yea

Greetings, we have completed our first day of the holidays and so far so good. The S1 students have a programme of work experience for the mornings so that keeps them busy and the other boys have 'chores' three days a week for part of the morning so today went well. The chores programme has been working well, the children seem to enjoy it and the Aunties/Uncles do too.
The end of term reports were encouraging overall, they could all do better but there is evidence of a better approach to school. We will try to build on this during the holidays and again once they are back at school. Marilyn and I have not been very involved this last term but hope to settle back to helping where we can.
During the last few days a company has been drilling a new bore hole down by the secondary school so that has been of great interest to the boys.
We were delighted last week to get the three boxes of books etc. that we had sent from NZ arrive, after a most remarkable three weeks. We were rapt to get the materials especially the resources donated by Blackboard Jungle, if you are ever in their shop in Havelock North, do tell them how pleased we are with their material.
On the children front, Dominic is making good progress, but please pray for Gideon as he appears to be going through some growing pains and pray that the treatment for TB continues to be effective. Our latest, Nathan, is taking some time to socialise so please pray for him too. Also Pita needs considerable prayer too, she has had a second bout of malaria but also has an infection in her leg which is swollen and painful, please pray that the medication will be effective quickly. Marilyn has recovered from her malaria, had a glitch on Sunday with the onset of a migraine but is now OK, life is so much better when we are healthy.
We are without full power again (have only lights on generator) and the battery is running low on the laptop so I'd better sign off here.
Till next time
God Bless
