Rest by the Nile

The place we stayed at called Holland Park.
Very spacious for us who live in a crammed up bedroom.
Side view with "our" part owned car.
Warwick was cook!
The best place to rest.
Sunday school this morning. Kids were illustrating a favourite verse of their own from the psalms.
Do note the new library shelves in the background.
All were fully engrossed for 1 1/2 hours!

October 15th

October 15th is a real emotional roller-coaster day for us. It is one year since our beloved Raghma died. We give thanks for the year that God gave us with her and we still miss her.
October 15th is the date both our daughter Jen and her fiancee Scott celebrate their birthdays. It was lovely to hear from them on this day.
October 15th was the day Marilyn's mum passed away four years ago. I give thanks to her for raising such a wonderful daughter!!
to ease the grief of Raghma's passing, we celebrate Rhode's continuing development. She is such a beautiful child and special to us. she is becoming more confident with walking but it is still early days yet.
Last Sunday we enjoyed celebrating Mama's birthday in the usual NACMU style, performances by the children, barbeque, cake and, of course, presents. A good time was had by all.
Marilyn and I are going for a three day break away tomorrow to recharge the batteries so to speak. Please pray for Arnout as he steps in to look after the boys.
That's all for now, until next time, God Bless

Success

She's done it, at last, Rhode is walking. Yesterday she launched herself for the first time here and took 4 steps on her own.......at last!!! She is developing quite a character and is a bit of a bully we think with some of the other children but we do enjoy getting her down here each day.
This past week has seen us celebrate Mark's 9th birthday with the usual double celebration, up at the home and here. They like turning 9 as they get a Bible then of their own even though they need help in reading it. Otherwise it has been a busy week with school and shoeboxes and containers. We have had a number of visitors and volunteers arrive this past week, five girls from the Netherlands, a couple (newly married) from there also, and a couple from Canada. They are here for durations from 1 month to 9 months. We have a team from Germany arriving this week and the Dentists from Holland next week so all in all things have been busy preparing for them all, accommodation is at a premium.
Our weather and power continue to be variable with power cuts most days and some rain each day. Went shopping in Kampala today for our usual fortnight shop and had lunch with Ragna. It is hard to believe that she has less than two weeks to go, it only seems like yesterday that she arrived.
Would you please pray for Christine, Auntie Marjorine's daughter, she has been having fits and although they have ruled out epilepsy, she continues to have them, so please pray for the fits to stop. Also Dorah, who has been diagnosed with epilepsy, has had a change in medication and it is taking time for her body to adjust. Today she fainted six times at school so please pray that the medication will be able to improve her.
Thank you to all who write to us, we love getting news from NZ, there are times we feel somewhat homesick and it is the messages and care packages that keep us going.
That's all for now, until next time
God Bless
