Oh dear, I must still be doing something wrong as the pictures refuse to be uploaded, sorry about that.
But to continue about our return.
Our welcome back to Uganda has included no fewer than 15 power cuts (five of them during an attempt to watch a DVD), a loss of water for 12 hours and difficulties with the internet....... but this is Uganda (a shower was really good last night!). We were struck by the warmth of the weather (27 degrees on arrival) and most pleasant sunny weather all week...............
Until Saturday, the first day of the boys being home for 4 weeks holiday. It was a full day of rain, showers in the morning but really heavy teeming rain all afternoon. In the afternoon we had no fewer than 18 children here interacting well with activities and games. It was a really neat feeling. We have had many of the girls visit since we have been home and Marilyn is starting four of them on keyboard lessons and they all love helping out in the kitchen.
Sunday was fine and we were able to get the washing dry and enjoyed taking Sunday School in the morning.
In the afternoon at church we had the dedication of baby Chloe who is Ram and Ronald's wee baby girl. Ronald is the manager of NACMU and Ram has been responsible for the running of the home so they are both special people here. They have three boys so having a wee baby girl is special to them. We were also welcomed back by the church which was nice.
Today, Monday, we had Alex & Simon come which was good catching up with them, and I began to regain my energy. I had a cold when we left NZ and it has taken till today to feel somewhat better.
Sorry there are no photos this time, I hope I haven't rambled on for too long
Until next time
God bless

Time for a catch-up
Welcome again to the blog. As promised a fuller one with some photos. Before we come to those however we must comment on our trip
to NZ.
Our time in NZ was precious to be able to catch up with family and friends and church, and also one very special dog! Thank you to everyone for your welcome, your hospitality, and your interest in what we are doing here in Uganda. We achieved the purpose of selling our cars, we farewelled our vicar Wayne from St. Peter's (sadly), we were able to take Suzie (our 23yr old dog) to the beach, which she loved, and spent precious time with family and friends. A very sprcial thank you to Sherrilyn & Deanne for hosting our 'presentation' fundraising evening which was very successful, and a very humbling
experience. The amount of money raised will go a long way towards us purchasing a vehicle here.
We must also mention Ruth who not only put us up but also put up with us, a very special friend indeed.
However, we both felt like strangers in a strange land and realised that for us at present Uganda is home so had no difficulty in saying farewell (till next time) and returning home here.
The trip was lengthyand tiring but all went according to plan. We were not affected by volcanoes or any other delays.
Our welcome home has been overwhelming and truly confirms that this is where we are meant to be. We were greeted by the boys and Aunty Reny (with Raghma)
and given welcome home presents (treasures). The house was decorated with streamers and balloons as the first picture shows and by the lightswitch was an advent calendar style countdown which is cool, we hope you can read what it says.
The boys had been well looked after in our absence though inevitably some routines have to be re-established.
Raghma looked quite different with her head shaved. She had a fungal infection in the scalp but the hair is growing back.
She also had a very high temperature the day after we returned and she was very lethargic so we had her tested for malaria, which was positive. Fortunately the medication is working and she seems to be recovering. She still has her cough though which we like her to be able to shake. Please continue to pray for her health.
It has taken her a few days to regain her sparkle and to remember who we are but as we see her each day she is beginning to be more responsive.
Will continue the news in part two..........

Welcome back
Welcome back.....something we have heard a lot of over the last 2 days. Something that confirms for us that this is home.
Yes, we are back in Uganda after 4 full and enjoyable weeks in NZ, had a good but tiring trip back without any problems and received a great welcome from the boys and Aunty Reny.
Welcome back to the blog too, it is so difficult to keep up with in NZ but much easier here.
This is a short note though to ask for prayer for Raghma. She is now 6 months and at last has reached 5 kgs (now 5008g) but she has not lost her cough and has tested positive for malaria today. She was very lethargic today but now has medication so we pray that this will take effect quickly and she will improve.
Will you pray for her too please?
Will write more fully in the weekend, until then
God Bless
