An update on Baby Patrick

Greetings to all. Yesterday Marilyn & I visited Patrick in hospital. He is still in the Intensive Care Unit at Kampala International Hospital but is now off the respirator and breathing OK on his own though still a little fast as his lungs cope with an infection. He is being tube fed every 2 hours and is taking 50mls each time so he has made very good progress. We thank the Lord for his life and thank the doctors and nurses for their ongoing loving care. It is of comfort to us that they too are praying for him each time they attend to his needs. He did look so much better yesterday but he remains in ICU so please continue to pray for him. The costs of such care and treatment are mounting, it cost about 1,000,000 USH a day for him to be there(about $500NZ per day) and while that will be met, we are asking anyone who would like to contribute towards these costs to contact us and we can arrange it. He has been in ICU for almost 20 days now.
To other things, we have decided to produce a Christmas Cantata to present to our neighboring villages the week before Christmas and are in the throes of auditions and preparations which is keeping us busy. The P7 students have their PLE exams November 3rd &4th so there are extra lessons and tutorials happening there as well as the remedial support for many who need it.
We have had two new children join us, both girls. Judith is about 18 months old and had been left in  a doorway of someone who took her to the police. She is quite malnourished but has a most gorgeous smile and is a great cuddler. The second is Shakira also about the same age and she was left in the care of two boys aged about 14 & 11 while the father was away for much time working and they took her to the police because they couldn't give her the care she needed , so our numbers continue to grow (169 children now).
That's all for now, thank you for all your prayers, please continue.
God Bless
