Holidays are over

Greetings to you all, today the children returned to school after three weeks holiday. They had a wonderful programme organised. This was enjoyed especially by the younger children but all good things come to an end, so they returned to school and the aunties heaved a sigh of relief.
Our numbers continue to grow with two more girls recently, Angela (and I can't just remember her story) and Erina who at three weeks old was placed on a railway line but found before a train came through, we have been averaging about one a week lately so one never knows from one day to the next what will be.
We were responsible in the holidays for organising two Friday nights for the family unit children, the first was a DVD called 'The Princess Bride' which sounds like a chick flick but had a bit of something for everyone, but the interesting part was it was made in 1987 and the kids reaction was.... it's old, but they still enjoyed it. The second Friday we had a Pictionary night which was a real hoot. The kids would argue at the top of their lungs about which group was first to guess their drawing, and our children know how to argue. Fortunately we had made Hannah our 'chief judge' so she had to sort them out rather than us. Again we all had a good time.
The second girl's family unit has settled in really well, although we are still at the 'honeymoon period' where they enjoy doing their own washing and especially enjoy the extra food that Aunty Bernadette cooks for them from time to time.
Last week we were delighted to welcome Colin & Bev Winters from Hastings NZ who have come for a year here, so we have enjoyed catching up with real kiwi talk. Please pray for them as they settle in to life here.We also celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and tried to go to Kampala for a celebratory meal with the other Muzungus here, but the traffic from Mukono was at such a snail's pace that it took us over an hour to get to Seeta (about 5 kms). Hence we turned off to go to a hotel there for a meal. The food was ordinary and took a loooong time in coming, but the company was good so we had a nice celebration.
Yesterday we went with the band and guitar group for an outreach to a church in Seeta in the morning. There were about 50 of us all told so with instruments, shoeboxes to give out to the children, and people we were well laden. It was great to see the children performing. For us it was especially great to see the oldest guitar group using their gifts again and more especially having Matthew sing as part of the group. It was also good for our children to see the conditions at other churches. Church was in an old chicken house. We arrived back at 1:30pm just in time to set up for our own service at 2pm. Needless to say we slept well last night.
Please continue to pray for us and for the work here at NACMU. We are tired at present and intend having some time out in Jinja next week. Pray also for Piet and Pita as we begin to head into a time of lots of visitors coming, many for only a short time but they all need their attention.
Until next time
God Bless
