greetings from NZ

A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. At last we have time and internet to post a new blog. Our trip so far has been busy but it has been good to catch up with family and friends.
Our two weddings were totally different but both lovely and appropriate for each, some photos have been posted for your viewing pleasure. Chris & Beck have settled back into work in Auckland, Jen & Scott have returned to the Mediterranean to take up their positions on Zoom Zoom Zoom again, and Pete & Essie are enjoying their home in Hawkes Bay (no pressure to get married yet guys but.....). Pete got the best Christmas present when he was notified on Christmas eve that he had secured a job with the Corrections Office as a prison warder, after a very vigorous interview process. He goes for training at the end of January and we are delighted for him.
After the wedding in Queenstown we spent a few days with my cousin Margaret in Christchurch and were able to see first hand the devastation still there almost three years after the earthquakes. We then spent Christmas day with Pete & Essie and Jen also shared it with us which was nice. We then went to Waikanae to spend some time with Marilyn's sister Keren and our niece and nephews. It was nice to have Zac (our grand-nephew 10 months old) to entertain us too. We visited my Uncle Jack who is 99 years young and determined to make 100 in August. He was doing well, does the sudoku each day from the paper to keep his mind active, so we pray that he will make it to August.New Years Eve was spent their, a much quieter affair than what we have had the last few years, we really missed being with the children that evening.
After this it was up to Ohope on New Years Day to be with my brother Alan for his 65th birthday on the 2nd and have a few days with them. We are now at Waihi Beach for some 'rest' with our dear friends Ruth and David. The weather has been beaut and we have been able to have some good walks akong the beach and swim in the sea. We have a few more days here then return to Hawkes Bay for a round of talks before heading home to Uganda on the 27th.
Until next time
God Bless (We're just going for a walk on the beach to enjoy God's creation)
