Now let me see, when did I last write..... oops October, wow, where did November go?
Things have been happening at quite a pace here and I simply don't get the chance to sit down and wite of an evening, but here goes.
In November we had a 4 night break away in Jinja at 2Friends (yes I still have 2 friends, at least!), one of our favourite places in Jinja. We needed to recharge the batteries because we knew we would not get away again this year with the holidays upon us. It was a lovely relaxing time even though Marilyn got a stinking migraine on the Tuesday but came right the next day.
While we were away a new Aunty was here to look after the boys. Yes, the good news is that Aunty Christine is on a trial period to see if she can take over the boys from us enabling us to move to our 'own place'. So far all is well, and we are all looking forward to us making the move which will probably be before Christmas. Our place is ready for occupancy, we have bought a fridge, jug, toaster, couch and other chairs, bar stools, carpet square, pots, pans, crockery...... you name it, so we have been busy setting up the home.
It seemed quite spacious until we started shifting some stuff down, it is amazing at how much you (I) can accumulate in three years.
Also in November I have spent considerable time preparing the shoeboxes for the school children and for distribution elsewhere, while Marilyn has sewn various costumes for the school for the end of year breakup.
The school breakup was last Friday and comprised the usual songs and dances and went off really well. It was good having the Secondary Vocational School participating too.
Last Wednesday Marilyn and I had a most delightful day out. We took Rhode with us for her first outing. We had hoped to take her swimming but the day dawned cloudy and wet so instead we went to a new mall called Metroplex on the outskirts of Kampala. She was absolutely gorgeous, you'd have thought she had been shopping all her life, she sat up and ate lunch like a pro and what's more, she went to the toilet three times. she is so good with here toilet training. We arrived home about 2.30 and she was asleep before Marilyn could even leave the room. we all had a wonderful day out.
On other matters, in the month of November we gained four new babies and farewelled one back to his family. Life is never dull here. Please pray for Piet and Pita as they continue to serve the children of Uganda sometimes with too many demands on them. There have been many situations recently which have really stretched their time and energy so please uphold them in prayer. We also have two young girls (early teens) from outside the compound but pupils at our school who have been seriously defiled and are staying at NACMU as a safe haven, please pray for them, you don't need their names, God knows who they are.
Finally please pray for us as we prepare to hand over the boys, pray for wisdom and grace.
Till next time, God bless
